SGS - sulforaphane glucosinolate - supports the activity of the body's phase II Cleansing enzymes that help neutralise harmful chemicals as well as free radicals before they can damage DNA. This indirect antioxidant triggers an ongoing process that continues its beneficial effects for days - much longer than direct antioxidants such as vitamins C & E.
In 1997 researchers at Johns Hopkins Medical University, Baltimore discovered one strain of broccoli sprouts - BroccoSprouts® - contain very high levels of SGS, in fact between 20 to 50 times the level found in fully grown cooked broccoli. Living Foods is one of fewer than two dozen companies around the world and the only company in NZ licensed to grow them.

Their fresh, zesty, peppery flavour makes them an excellent addition to sandwiches and wraps or as a topping for finger foods and main courses. They also add interest to salads, soups and stir-fries.
